I started using Diskeeper 2009, which is windows defragment software by Diskeeper Corporation. It defragments when there's free resources to use. Even when you surf, it will detect is there enough resources to do some defragmention without computer slowing down. So I installed before I went out, and now come back few hours later, WOW! I started my internet browser, and it instantly pop up. I wondered what on earth just happened? How did it open so fast?
Diskeeper had defragged my drives while I was out, and defragmention really sped up everything. Everything just works faster and smoother. I recommend to defrag your drives if there's some time when done. In windows XP you can defrag your drives by:
1. press [WINDOWS-KEY] + R
2. (run box opens) write compmgmt.msc and press enter
3. (computer management opens) click Disk Defragmenter
(3.1 optional) For example choose your C: drive and click "Analyze" Depending of how badly files are defragmented, windows will give you recommendation what to do.
4. Choose defragment.
Defragmention can be stopped at any time, and it will take some hours to complete if there's hasn't been defragment operation done lately. Default windows XP defragmention will slow down your computer when operating though, depending how fast your PC is.
Bottom line: DEFRAGMENT ALL YOUR DRIVES NOW
